Our lovely little Bonnie is now with you. She went very quickly, stomach cancer. Katie was able to bring her home to me and we ended her life quietly and kindly as we can do with our pets. Katie was very brave . I was very down for many weeks but as ever I have pulled myself out of the gloom. Look after her for me xxx

Rick and Hannah are now engaged. Rick organised a surprise party which went very well. It was a lovely day but I did get very upset, I so much wanted you to be there. Love you always xxx

Tim, my second Christmas without you. How can that be? It still seems to me that I’m in that awful time of your death. I spent Christmas Eve with David and Lucy and Finn. Poor little chap isn’t well, he has a nasty cold. They brought him to Anne’s on Christmas Day but had to leave as he was so upset. Theo and Penny continue to be delightful. I met up with Janet Nicholls yesterday. Their house is in a great location with a stream at the bottom of the garden . It was good to see her. X

I missed you so much yesterday but also had those happy memories of last year and our stay at Hintlesham Hall. Hannah sent a lovely video message of Theo wishing happy birthday to Auntie Dot and that made me cry. I’ve got to catch up with the one from Finley so I guess that will set me off. All the family are being so caring and supportive. Went to Sutton Hoo last night for an outdoor performance of Macbeth. Not your sort of thing I know. My darling Tim. Your mum and I had a lovely meal with Sarah, John, David, Lucy and Baby Finley. He is almost a toddler now, he loves walking with someone holding onto him . Mind you, David’s back is starting to ache from bending all the time. Tim, what would we have done today on your birthday? Would we have gone to Spain? Maybe. Had a really nice time yesterday at David and Lucy’s; we were all there except your mum and the dogs and we did justice to a curry fest, it was a fitting way to remember you. I have to break this gently: I’ve traded in the Leaf ! Also my little fiat. The painters are arriving today to paint the hall, stairs and landing. Tim, Sniper has now been sold. A retired person who is thrilled to own such a good boat. A tribute to all the hard work you have put in over the years. I never thought I would miss you working down at Pin Mill in all hours in the cold and all the angst about would you get everything done for getting back in the water. However, I do miss all of that because I miss you. We’re going to put the money toward sailing/ water related things for the family, particularly for the great nephews and the new arrival.
